Bennington (Hybrid) EMT Class @ Statewide

Hybrid EMT Class Information:

The Hybrid EMT course is a 3-part course consisting of: 14 weeks of online learning meeting once a week for a 2-hour online, interactive, instructor-led session, this is followed by a 30-hour in-person simulation lab to practice EMT skills & scenarios, then a clinical experience riding along with EMS crews.  Visit www.benningtonrescue.org for more information.  Students affiliated and operational with a VT-licensed ambulance or EMS first response service may be eligible for special funding for courses starting in 2020. 

This EMT class will be held from 6/6/21 to 9/5/21. You must contact the course coordinator Bill Camarda at bill.camarda@benningtonrescue.org to register.

This course will prepare you for the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certification exam, which will be scheduled after successful completion of this course. In addition to this certification, in order to become a State of Vermont licensed EMT, you must become affiliated with an approved EMS organization. EMT, AEMT Practical Exam – VTC Bennington @ Vermont Technical College - Bennington

There may be staggered start times for this event, beginning at 0900 (EMT) and 1300 (AEMT) June 12th in Bennington.  Bill Camarda will email participants as the exam gets closer to discuss start times.

This National Registry practical exam will include the following levels:

EMR: Emergency Medical Responder

EMT: Emergency Medical Technician

AEMT: Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

Students should receive exam applications from their instructors, training officers or the EMS office one month prior to the test date. Applications can also be downloaded from the Documents page on the Vermont EMS website. Candidates do not need to register with Exam Coordinators, but may seek directions from them.

This exam is being held at the First Branch Ambulance / Chelsea Fire Station at 324 VT Route 110 in Chelsea on 8/1/21.
