Information MRC Training via zoom platform: “De-Escalation – What We Say and How We Say It” with Mourning Fox.

Mourning Fox’s verbal de-escalation and violence prevention trainings incorporate his knowledge and experience along with aspects from the various models that he has been trained in. Fox is a highly energetic presenter, using real life situations and experiences to enhance the learning of his participants. People taking his class learn the predictors of violence, those risk factors that increase risk for violence, active listening skills and de-escalation techniques. In addition, participants develop a common language to describe behaviors to better enhance the communication among staff and increase the likelihood of safe outcomes.

EMT, EMR, AEMT Practical Exam – VTC Bennington @ Vermont Technical College - Bennington

Please note: This exam is on a Friday, not Saturday.

AEMT Registration is 12/17/2021 – must provide PATT number to Bambi.Dame@vermont.gov or vtems@vermont.gov before the deadline.

There may be staggered start times for this event, beginning at 0900 for EMT/EMR candidates and 1200 hrs for AEMT candidates.  Bill Camarda will email participants as the exam gets closer to discuss start times.

This National Registry practical exam will include the following levels:

EMR: Emergency Medical Responder

EMT: Emergency Medical Technician

AEMT:  Advanced EMT

 

Students should receive exam applications from their instructors, training officers or the EMS office one month prior to the test date. Applications can also be downloaded from the Documents page on the Vermont EMS website. Candidates do not need to register with Exam Coordinators, but may seek directions from them.

Bennington (Hybrid) AEMT Class @ Statewide

Hybrid AEMT Class Information:

The Hybrid AEMT course is a 3-part course consisting of: 15 weeks of online learning meeting once a week for a 2-hour online instructor-led session, a 30-hour in-person simulation lab to practice AEMT skills & scenarios, and clinical experiences in EMS and the hospital emergency departments.  The online portion of the AEMT class will be held from 1/9/22 to 4/17/22.  There are several simulation lab enrollment options.  Clinical experiences take place after the simulation lab.  Visit www.benningtonrescue.org for more information and to enroll in the course.

This course will prepare you for the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician AEMT certification exams.  In addition to this certification, in order to become a State of Vermont licensed AEMT, you must become affiliated with a VT EMS licensed EMS organization. Bennington (Hybrid) EMT Class @ Statewide

Hybrid EMT Class Information:

The Hybrid EMT course is a 3-part course consisting of: 14 weeks of online learning meeting once a week for a 2-hour online, interactive, instructor-led session, this is followed by a 30-hour in-person simulation lab to practice EMT skills & scenarios, then a clinical experience riding along with EMS crews.  Visit www.benningtonrescue.org for more information.  Students affiliated and operational with a VT-licensed ambulance or EMS first response service may be eligible for special funding for courses. 

This EMT class will be held from 1/9/22 to 4/17/22. You must contact the course coordinator Bill Camarda at bill.camarda@benningtonrescue.org to register.
