Join the Lamoille Valley MRC Vaccine POD (Point of Distribution) Overview Training. PODs are a mechanism for distributing medicine to those at risk during a public health emergency. Medical Reserve Corps volunteers will be activated in the event that the dozens of Points of Distribution sites across Vermont are activated.
The Vermont Department of Health is preparing and planning for the expanded rollout of vaccines to the public. You will be call upon again because you have proven yourselves to be a valuable resource. Whatever roll you can play, you will do it with professionalism and pride.

UVM EMT Class Information:
This EMT class will meet in UVM’s Rowell Building Room 111 in Burlington from 2/1/21 – 5/10/21. You must contact the course coordinator Adam Boise at aboise@uvm.edu to register.
This course will prepare you for the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certification exam, which will be scheduled after successful completion of this course. In addition to this certification, in order to become a State of Vermont licensed EMT, you must become affiliated with an approved EMS organization. The Hybrid EMT course is a 3-part course consisting of: 14 weeks of online learning meeting once a week for a 2-hour online, interactive, instructor-led session, this is followed by a 30-hour in-person simulation lab to practice EMT skills & scenarios, then a clinical experience riding along with EMS crews. Visit www.benningtonrescue.org for more information. Students affiliated and operational with a VT-licensed ambulance or EMS first response service may be eligible for special funding for courses starting in 2020.
This EMT class will be held from 2/7/21 to 5/9/21. You must contact the course coordinator Bill Camarda at bill.camarda@benningtonrescue.org to register.

We will have an exciting webinar by Cath Burns, PhD, talking about compassion fatigue during COVID response. Many of you have been on the frontlines during work and as volunteers, and it is stressful to manage your own anxieties as well as those of others, as well as to see the toll of the virus on our everyday lives. We will also do our regular review of activities going on in both states so you can see all of the amazing work our volunteers are involved in!
